Atlas Shrugged (an excerpt from the book by Ayn Rand)

Until and unless you discover that money is the root of all good, you ask for your own destruction. When money ceases to become the tool by which men deal with one another, then men become the tools of other men. Blood, whips and guns–or dollars. Take your choice–there is no other.

  1. Steve Butterbaugh Says:

Please check the Rand quote. What you have is not correct. You use the word “means” where she uses the word “tool.” Since reasoned discourse is another means of dealing with men, “means” is less precise than “tool.”

  2. Less precise, perhaps, but hardly what I would call ‘incorrect’, though your attention to such a detail is admirable. I don’t have my actual book at hand to double-check, and I can find multiple citations using both words, but I agree it’s more precise, so…edited.
